See the grown-up comparison guides before you buy.
This cake starts with the frosting rather than the cake, beginning as a curved band with a wavy lower edge. Adding the candles at the end is the most exciting moment, so save it as the reward. Read the steps together and let your child choose whose birthday it is.
Make it your own
Write an age number on the ribbon band, add party hats and streamers around the cake, or draw a slice lifted out on a little plate with a fork beside it.
Draw a birthday cake in four steps
Step 1
Draw a shallow curved band with a wavy line along its bottom edge for the dripping frosting.
Step 2
Add two straight sides and a rounded bottom underneath so the frosting sits on a round cake.
Step 3
Draw a curved line across the top for the cake surface, then stand three candles on it, each with a small flame.
Step 4
Finish with two shiny eyes and a smile in the center.
